HomeGrown Highlight: Groove Queens

The Kingston Jazz Society will be highlighting many of the outstanding local acts that will be performing as a part of next Saturday’s HomeGrown Live. The tunes kick off at 3pm at Monte’s. We hope to see you there!

Spotlight on the Groove Queens

The Groove Queens are a new Kingston trio of veteran performers Patty Kenny, Val Hamilton, and Jenica Rayne. Patty has been playing bass in several Kingston bands for many years now, most recently “Yo Mama” and “Joplinesque.” Val puts incredible energy and enthusiasm into her music and LOVES jazz. Val is a member of the Kingston Ceili Band, the Mowtown Band Heatwave, and the Blues Swing Quartet, which performs regularly at Monte’s. Jenica is a passionate songwriter, accomplished guitarist, and seasoned performer who has released several critically acclaimed CDs.

The Groove Queens hit the stage at 5pm in the jazz venue of HomeGrown Live on Saturday.
