2014 Live @ Your Library kick off: Mike Perlin Group

2014_KJS_jan12

As a founding member of the Kingston Jazz Composers Collective, bassist Mike Perlin is a man of many talents. He has been playing in Kingston since his high-school days, and while he may be based in Toronto now, he still finds time to visit and perform in Kingston throughout the year. Mike will be completing the Jazz Composers Collective collaborations that formed the theme for our successful 2013 Live @ Your Library concert series.

He will be joined on the stage by some of Kingston’s best players, who will début his original five-movement suite exploring the collective experience of Kingston’s 1998 ice storm, which is rather timely given the recent weather.

The full band is:

  • Jon Stewart – sax
  • Bobby Hsu – sax
  • Greg Runions – vibes
  • Mike Cassells – drums
  • Mike Perlin – bass

The concert will start at 2pm in The Wilson Room. Tickets can be purchased on-line or at the door. Full series details, tickets, and a series pass are also available.

This concert is sponsored by GoSaBe Development & Design.

Our full concert line-up is made possible by the support of The City of Kingston, The Kingston Arts Council, Carolyn Thornburrow of Sun Life Financial, GoSaBe Development and Design, Shoalts and Zaback Architects Ltd., Chez Piggy, Novel Idea, and The Main Street Market.
