More often than not, the spotlight belongs to a band’s lead singer or guitarist. On Oct. 4, however, it will be bassists who take centre stage for a special “Basses Loaded” concert/workshop in support of the Joe Chithalen Musical Instrument Lending Library (Joe’s MILL), the organization currently holds over 400 instruments available for Kingstonians to borrow and enjoy.
Accomplished area bassists Alec Barken, David Woodenhead, Al Parrish and Zak payday loans bad credit Colbert will take turns demonstrating some tricks of the trade, thereby enhancing audience members’ appreciation for what can be accomplished with different varieties of bass, including five-string, six-string, upright and fretless.
Basses Loaded will take place Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wilson Room at the Kingston Public Library. Tickets are $10 in advance, or $15 at the door, and are available at Brian’s Record Option and Joe’s MILL (559 Bagot St.).
