SFJAZZ Collective: Oct 14 at The Grand Theatre

Kingston’s Grand Theatre will be hosting the SFJAZZ Collective as a part of their Empire Life Jazz Series.

SFJAZZ Collective: Live @ The Grand Oct. 14

The SFJAZZ Collective is an all-star jazz ensemble comprising eight of the finest performers/composers at work in jazz today. Launched in 2004 by SFJAZZ – the West Coast’s largest nonprofit jazz institution and the presenter of the annual San Francisco Jazz Festival – the Collective has quickly become one of the most exciting and acclaimed groups on the American and international jazz scenes. After Payday Loan exploring work by jazz greats Ornette Coleman, Herbie Hancock, and Thelonius Monk, their newest tour features the music by the iconic Stevie Wonder. “Creepin”, “Superstition”, “My Cherie Amour” and other Wonder classics are transformed by the grooves of this amazing ensemble.

Members of the group have announced a pre-show talk from the stage at 6:45pm to explore their inspiration for this performance – the music of Stevie Wonder. Admission is free with your concert ticket and doors to the hall will open at 6:30pm.
