For Betty fundraiser

Fundraiser May 15

In the summer of 2009 Betty and Earl realized their long held dream of moving to Bowen Island, BC. Betty had just retired from the Limestone District School board where she taught for much of her career. Early in 2010 she began to notice the first signs of her illness. Within a few months their attention had to be turned almost exclusively to Betty’s rapidly deteriorating health.

Earl and Betty have been faced with many unexpected and significant costs as the result of her need for full-time care. She now needs assistance with every aspect of daily life.

A website was set up in August 2010 to help keep Betty’s family and friends informed about her health, to enable them to interact with her and to facilitate making donations for those wishing to support her and Earl in that way.

For more information about ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, please see their website.

A percentage of the proceeds of the Silent Auction will be directed toward ALS research. Please join us at the Iron Duke on Wellington for the For Betty fundraiser on Sunday May 15, 2 :00 to 4:30 p.m.
